Water For Life, of Newtown, Conn., introduces a whole house water purification system that combines two stages of ultraviolet (bracketed UV) sterilization with three stages of filtration. Two models, 12 gallons per minute (gpm) and 8 gpm, are available. The status panel reminds users when to change the filters and UV lamp with LEDs, and a warning horn sounds for lamp failure. Both models are equipped with an energy efficient standby mode, which reduces power consumed in half when the system is idle.
