Industrial Test Systems Inc., of Rock Hill, S.C., announces that its Free Chlorine Water Check test strip received recommendation on Oct. 10 from the USEPA for drinking water compliance monitoring. The USEPA’s proposal will be made in an upcoming rule-making to be published in the federal register. Per the proposal, the test strip will be treated as equivalent to other free chlorine test kits, meaning that states will have discretion to approve their use per authority at 40 CFR 141.74 (a)(2) in regulatory monitoring. The acceptance of the Free Chlorine Water Check marks the beginning of a new era in regulatory compliance monitoring for municipalities. Without the need of powder pillows, reagent tablets or instrumentation, this test strip gives accurate, affordable results in 40 seconds.
