Features include: Stage 1) 5-micron, carbon-impregnated, polyester pleated filter for reduction of dirt, sand, sediment, rust, bad taste and odor and chlorine; Stage 2) ULTRA-D submicron filter that reduces or removes trace pharmaceuticals, heavy metals including lead and ferrous iron, hydrocarbons, virus, bacteria and cysts (Giardia, Cryptosporidium) and filter life of approximately 1,000 gallons (3,785 liters) or one year, depending on water quality and water usage.
