More and more utilities are using fluoride in the treatment of drinking water as a means of improving dental health. Increased fluoride concentrations are also found, however, as a result of natural or industrial processes. Dortmund, German-based Tintometer GmbH has developed the PCcheckit Fluoride with a measuring range from 0.05-to-2 mg/L tailored to requirements in the area of drinking water testing. Concentrations above 2 mg/L of fluoride are considered harmful and should therefore be avoided.
