Aquafine Corporation introduces a line of disinfection systems combining two new technologies: low-pressure, high-output mercury vapor ultraviolet lamps and computer mapping for fluence rate distribution. Built into the Optima HX series, these cutting-edge technologies increase process performance and extend lamp life. The Optima HX features lamp technology that maintains 80 percent intensity after 9,000 to 12,000 hours of duty under normal operating conditions. (Standard UV lamps typically have a decay curve that drops to about 60 percent intensity in the same time frame.) Aquafine lamps contain less than 5 mg of mercury, simplifying disposal and protecting the environment. They meet U.S. EPA requirements for 2008 and when matched with electronic smart ballasts, deliver the highest output in the industry.
