The American Water Works Association is offering two new publications for water treatment system operators. The AWWA Water Treatment Operator Handbook has been updated by Nicholas G. Pizzi to include additional basic treatment information, specialized treatment options and applications, an overview of testing and laboratory procedures, as well as good safety practices and record keeping requirements. The 251-page handbook is ideal for utility operators, utility supervisors, managers, trainers and educators.The Association also offers Microfiltration and Ultrafiltration Membranes for Drinking Water: A Manual of Water Supply Practices. A new addition to the AWWA catalog, the manual provides detailed information developed, reviewed and approved by the AWWA Membrane Process Committee to explain all aspects of the drinking water treatment process. Combined with integrated process applications, case studies and information from manufacturers of micro- and ultrafiltration systems about their companies, their products and their installed systems, the manual is a ideal for anyone considering or currently utilizing micro- or ultrafiltration membrane systems.
