Water Specialists Technologies, of Sanford, Fla. has developed TR-50, an enhanced version of its patented THIO-RED precipitating reagant. TR-50 is a non-toxic, powerful replacement for DTC/carbamate-type precipitants. Extensive field tests confirm that it achieves twice the precipitating activity at a similar dosage when compared to commonly used DTC precipitants. The extremely low solubility of TR-50 virtually eliminates total metals from wastewaters even in the presence of natural and unnatural chelating agents.
