An economically priced 10-inch carbon water filter cartridge containing 10 ounces of granular activated carbon between a string-wound post-filter on top and a string-wound prefilter on the bottom is now available from Durable Manufacturing, of Bensenville, Ill. The flow rate is 3 gallons per minute. The prefilter is compressible that allows for a variation in filter length and produces a tight seal.
