San Antonio-based BioStim introduces the BioPlug time-released microbial “grease-eater?? designed specifically for municipal lift stations and sewer lines. It contains eight strains of bacteria isolated due to their ability to metabolize grease. The new bacteria rapidly increase the bioremediation process, eliminating fats, and oils and grease deposits. Unlike enzymes, detergents, etc., that break down grease and move it down stream, the bacteria digests the organic waste and turn it into carbon dioxide and water.
