USFilter Corporation’s GFH™ arsenic removal media system is a cost-effective solution that uses a ferric-based, non-regenerative media to remove the arsenic and other heavy metals from raw water supplies. Once the media is spent, it is removed from the vessel and replaced with fresh media; the exhausted media can usually be discarded in landfills and classified as non-hazardous waste after passing a TCLP test. Compared to other processes, the GFH system treats more bed volumes between replacement, which decreases downtime. There is also no need for on-site storage or handling of regeneration chemicals and the media does not require preconditioning or pre-oxidation procedures.
