Expert to Discuss Flint Crisis at WQA Convention

WQA has secured an expert to offer key insights into the drinking water crisis in Flint, MI at its 2016 Convention & Exposition. On Tuesday, March 15, Dr. Otto Schwake from Virginia Tech will explain what went wrong in Flint and how Virginia Tech became aware of the problem. He will also give a breakdown of the Virginia Tech testing results from Flint.  The session will take place from 8 – 9:00 a.m in Room 104-CD in the Music City Center.

Schwake holds a PhD in microbiology from Arizona State University and currently works in Virginia Tech’s Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering. His research focuses on examining the physiology, ecology and transmission of Legionella in engineered systems.
