WQA responds to President Obama’s position on water filtration in Flint, MI. Following President Barack Obama’s visit to Flint, the Water Quality Association (WQA) applauded the President’s position on water filtration in that city. As a result, WQA responded by demonstrating how the drinking water treatment industry can help bring immediate solutions for the residents. Earlier, WQA President Don McGhee issued an official statement on Obama’s visit and sent an official letter to the White House, offering to provide certified filters and related technologies and technical advice, as well as public education.
Certification offered at FWQA event. 2016 Florida Water Quality Association Convention attendees are encouraged to take advantage of professional certification and training opportunities from WQA. The show will take place June 9-11 at the Caribe Royale Resort in Orlando, FL. WQA will hold a WaterTreatment Systems Operations (MEP Fundamentals) workshop on June 11 from 8-11 am, for anyone new to professional certification or for those who currently hold a professional certification title and are pursuing a new title. Attendees can expect to learn about the chemistry, capacities, design and performance of several water treatment technologies. Admission is free for convention attendees. Examinations will be available for those wishing to become certified as a Certified Water Specialist (CWS), Certified Installer (CI), Certified Service Technician (CST) or Certified Water Treatment Representative (CWR). WSC continuing education At South Atlantic Jubilee. TheWater Systems Council (WSC) will conduct a Water Systems Primer and Refresher continuing education course at the South Atlantic Jubilee in Myrtle Beach, SC, June 15. Taught by leading industry professionals, this one-day class provides instruction onwater well fundamentals; pumps; service; components; water quality assurance; electrical safety, controls and regulations; community well systems, shared wells and groundwater heat pumps and solar power systems.
