A concerted effort by industry leaders has staved off the demise of US EPA’s WaterSense program. The US House of Representatives’ Interior Appropriations Subcommittee, which oversees funding for US EPA, has issued its Fiscal Year 2018 agency funding report, rejecting the proposed elimination of the program. At ASSE’s annual conference this year, the organization has scheduled two meetings on November 8 that should be of interest to the water treatment industry. A working group meeting will discuss the draft standard being created to test commercial water treatment equipment. In addition, ASSE’s Professional Qualification (PQ) Standards team will hold a Technical Committee Meeting to discuss ASSE’s new standard on installation and maintenance of water treatment equipment.
