The U.S. EPA has shared its draft product notification template for point-of-use reverse osmosis systems. When the final specification for RO systems is released by the EPA, licensed certifying bodies will be required to submit information regarding WaterSense-labeled RO systems to the EPA using the template. The EPA is accepting written comments and plans to hold a public webinar to discuss stakeholder comments.
The webinar will be held online Thursday, January 12, 2023, from 2 to 4 p.m. EST. Register online at https://www.zoomgov.com/webinar/register/WN_ddOYouazSLy1wszbd_xffA.
Interested parties are welcome to comment on the proposed requirements in the draft specification and the product notification template until February 3, 2023. Be sure to review the instructions on the cover letter and submit your comments using this template.
Manufacturers that produce RO systems are invited to become WaterSense partners and begin applying to label or promote labeled RO systems once the specification is final. Go to https://www.epa.gov/watersense/join-watersense#Manufacturers to learn how to join the program.
