WQA to offer ‘hybrid’ convention in Las Vegas
The 2021 WQA Convention and Exposition is the association’s first-ever hybrid event, offering expanded access for those participating in person and online. Those attending virtually can participate in real time during live-streamed events July 28-30, and those attending in person can take advantage of on-demand-only courses.
“Whether in person or virtual, participants can design their personal convention experience in a way that makes the most sense to them, both during the live event in Las Vegas and in the months to come” said Tom Bruursema, WQA Associate Executive Director, Member & Public Engagement. “With the two available options, companies are able to have more employees benefit from the convention experience by combining live attendance and virtual registrations.” Click here for the full release.
Robust education line up
Dozens of education sessions about water quality, water treatment and business operations – offered in-person, by live stream or on-demand – highlight the 2021 WQA Convention and Exposition (https://www.eventscribe.net/2021/Convention/), July 28-30 in Las Vegas, NV. Attendees who hold professional certifications through WQA have the opportunity to earn much of the Continuing Professional Development credit they need for recertification through this one event. “Offering education sessions in these different formats gives all Convention registrants an expanded catalog from which to choose,” said Tanya Lubner, PhD, WQA Professional Certification and Training Director. “And, as always, we’re offering classes on a variety of business operations and technical topics that will appeal to people involved in all aspects of the water treatment industry.” Click here for the full release.
WQA Business Boot Camp
Experts in leadership, human resources and business management from within and without the water treatment industry will engage attendees of the 2021 WQA Business Boot Camp in Reimagining Your Success. Aimed primarily at dealers, this intensive one-day business operations workshop is scheduled for 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday, July 27, at the Las Vegas Convention Center, the day before the start of the 2021 WQA Convention & Exposition.
Presenters at WQA’s third Business Boot Camp have decades of business experience to share:
- Candice Wentling, MWS, director of Certified Action, a business advisement and training company, will speak on “Leadership Lessons: Articulate Your Passion.”
- Jeff Kortes, founder of Human Asset Management LLC, which helps organizations recruit, engage, develop and retain employees, will discuss “Recruit to Win: Winning the War for Talent.”
- Doug Ramer, MWS, CWR, President of Martin Water Kinetico, will speak on “How to Onboard Your Employees: Training Materials, Teaching Professionalism.”
Whether new to the industry or experienced professionals, dealers will come away from Boot Camp with new skills and tools they can immediately put to use building on the success of their business. Participants will share ideas and learn from each other as well as the experts.
Boot Camp graduates can benefit further from a ‘power morning’ of education and interaction on July 28, the first day of the 2021 WQA Convention & Exposition. “Power Morning” includes a discussion on ethics in the real world, a session on preparing for the rapid pace of change in the water treatment industry, and dealer roundtable discussions further delving into crucial industry issues. Attendees can register for Convention at the same time they register for Boot Camp.
