PWQA Scholarship Program
The Pacific Water Quality Association named Kaitlyn Marie Horner as its most recent PWQA Scholarship winner. In a year filled with uncertainty, she has elected to complete some of her lower division general education units at Riverside Community College before moving to a four-year school. With A and B+ grades dominating her high school transcript, Kaitlyn is clearly a good student, but hasn’t been all about academics. A well-rounded young student, she also excelled in water polo, taking a leadership role in guiding other athletes.
This would not be thought untypical of an outstanding young woman, but she accomplished high marks in all areas while enduring brain surgery in 2017. Kaitlyn’s determination and spirit helped her overcome significant muscle loss and slight paralysis. With strong recommendations from teachers and coaches, she will pursue a degree in finance and accounting, which is very good news, as she might have a place at the family firm, Impact Water Products.
