Each year, the Pacific Water Quality Association engages state legislators on behalf of water improvement industry members, including dealers, suppliers and manufacturers. The association has been at the forefront of the fight to overcome onerous water softener bans, lighting the way for other regional associations in their attempts to protect the industry at the local legislative level.
This year, however, the COVID-19 pandemic has changed the focus of life, business and personal safety. Out of respect for Governor Newsom’s executive orders pertaining to large gatherings, PWQA has decided to postpone the May 5-6 Annual Legislative Days event. The association appreciates its members’ willingness to visit the California capital to learn about the issues facing the legislature in 2020 and to lobby for the support of industry representatives. PWQA, WQA and Churchwell White will continue to explore alternative forms of outreach that help to remind representatives of members’ essential role in securing the availability of clean, safe, affordable water to all.
