Call for technical experts
The International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials (IAPMO®) is accepting applications and seeking technical experts to participate in a task group relating to hydronics. The scope of the Hydronics Task Group is to review all hydronics proposals submitted as published in the 2019 Uniform Solar, Hydronics and Geothermal Code (USHGC) Report on Proposals (ROP) monograph and develop public comments for technical committee consideration. Professional qualifications standard available
ASSE/IAPMO/ANSI Series 16000-2019, Professional Qualifications Standard for Inspectors and Plans Examiners, has been designated as an American National Standard by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) and is now available. This standard provides minimum performance criteria, identified by industry consensus, for plumbing inspectors, mechanical system inspectors, plumbing plans examiners, and mechanical plans examiners. This standards series for inspectors and plans examiners of both residential and commercial applications documents the experience, education, training, and general knowledge requirements for the inspectors and examiners who play critical roles in protecting the health and safety of the general public and the industry itself. US EPA Recognition
IAPMO EGS, The IAPMO Group’s testing and certification division for electrical products, has been recognized by the US EPA to provide ENERGY STAR® certification to nine product groups, including Commercial Water Heaters, Pool Pumps and Water Coolers. A US Department of Labor Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratory (NRTL), IAPMO EGS is also accredited by ANAB (ANSI National Accreditation Board) to test to more than 30 electrical, mechanical, plumbing and ENERGY STAR standards covering pool and spa equipment, bathtub equipment, irrigation equipment, electric faucets and bidets, personal hygiene/health care appliances, and suction fittings.
