Heron Innovators announced its new Suspended Air Flotation (SAF) System. The SAF system is designed for liquid/solid separation for wastewater treatment in the food, dairy, and animal products industry, and works to enhance separation efficiency, which results in a cleaner effluent and drier skimmed solids. This lowers operating costs by effectively cutting energy consumption, decreasing flocculant and coagulant usage, and reducing operator attention and maintenance requirements by utilizing aphrons, charged microbubbles that don’t dissolve.

The SAF System consistently outperforms traditional flotation methods at a variety of sizes, ranging from 50 gallons per minute (gpm) to greater than 8,000 gpm, and it regularly achieves reductions of total suspended solids by greater than 98 percent and biochemical oxygen demand by 30 percent to 80 percent. Heron Innovators have been providing SAF system solutions for nearly 25 years across North American markets.
