US Rep. Dan Kildee (D-Mich.) has been honored with WQA’s Champion Award for his support of water-related legislation, particularly his work in forming a bipartisan Congressional PFAS Task Force. Chief Deputy Whip of the House Democratic Caucus, Kildee joined forces with US Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick (R-Pa.) to form the bipartisan Congressional PFAS Task Force, which is advocating for policies and funding to better protect communities impacted by PFAS contamination.

The association also honored US Rep. Fred Upton (R-Mich.) with the WQA Champion award for his support of water-related legislation. He co-sponsored the Federal Facility Accountability Act, which will require agencies such as US EPA to work with states on a joint plan to test, monitor and possibly remediate PFAS contamination.
