Due to Caribbean island Eleuthera’s challenges with the supply of fresh, potable water, GE is providing Water and Sewerage Corporation Bahamas with a seawater RO desalination plant. Under the terms of the 15-year outsourcing service agreement, GE will build, own and operate a plant that will supply North Eleuthera with 600,000 imperial gallons (720,570 US gallons) per day of clean drinking water. The new plant is expected to begin commercial operation in the first quarter of 2018. Located in North Eleuthera, it will serve approximately 7,500 residents.
