IDE Technologies announced that it has completed the reactivation of the Charles E. Meyer Desalination Facility in Santa Barbara, CA to produce nearly three million gallons of water per day to meet 30 percent of the city’s demand. The city wanted to diversify its water portfolio to ensure a continuous supply of water and combat the ongoing drought. IDE was selected to design, build and operate the desalination plant. High-efficiency pumps and motors used in the plant will reduce the plant’s overall electrical demands by 40 percent, compared to the last plant.
