Steve’s Pumps and Well Drilling, Inc. was founded by Steve and TeriLynn Bejcek in 1990. He was raised in the Susanville, CA area and started working for a local driller at the young age of 16. When Bejcek was 18, a local farmer offered to give him a drill rig in exchange for an irrigation well. At 25, he decided to start his own pump service business. Bejcek taught himself everything about water well construction and pump systems (residential, irrigation, municipal, etc.) and within his first year, he was able to grow his business by purchasing a second rig for irrigation. 
He then realized there was a great need for gravel-packed water wells in the Lassen County area due to ever-present sand problems and decided to add well drilling to his service offerings. Steve and Teri Lynn have since become highly sought-after water treatment experts for not only domestic water wells, but municipal and government jobs as well. The company’s team has become well-known for their hard work, outstanding service and dedication to getting the job done right.
Steve’s Pumps and Well Drilling, Inc. has come a long way since 1990. The business has grown from offering only residential pump service in Lassen and Plumas Counties to servicing residential, commercial, agricultural and municipal water well systems throughout California and northern Nevada. 
It has expanded its equipment line significantly, which now includes one of the few dual-rotary (DR12, foremost) drilling rigs on the west coast. When they launched the company, the Bejceks were the only employees.
Now, they provide year-round, life-long employment and careers to at least 10 team members. Steve has also since acquired his D-2 license, which enables the team to offer additional services to municipal clients.
The company is a broad-spectrum enterprise, with a wide array of offerings. Services and products include water well drilling (dual-rotary, mud-rotary, air-rotary, geo-loop and test-hole drilling); pump systems (domestic; solar and hand; jet/booster; turbine, submersible and VFD pumps); water treatment (on-site testing, iron treatment, arsenic treatment and water softening) and well rehabilitation (redevelopment, water well videos, brushing of well casing, well deepening, casing removal, acid treatment and chlorine treatment).
Neither the family nor the company is confined to pursuits in water treatment, however. They truly understand their business would not be where it is today if it weren’t for the community in which they live and operate. Very local-minded, they constantly give back to the community through the many organizations they participate with and support, including the Lassen County Chamber of Commerce, Lassen County 4-H, Susanville Elks Lodge, St. Jude, Ducks Unlimited, the Lassen County Farm Bureau, Lassen County Youth Sports, the National Rifle Association and the Lassen County Humane Society. The company is also a member of the Better Business Bureau, National Ground Water Association, California Groundwater Association, California Rural Water Association and the International Ground Source Heat Pump Association (IGSHPA). Additionally, it is certified by the Small Business Administration’s Historically Underutilized Business Zones (HUBZone) program, FannieMae and IGSHPA, and holds Water Distribution Operator Grade D-2 Operator # 40137 certification.
To the Bejceks, their business is more than just a way to pay the bills; it’s their passion. They drink, eat, sleep, live and breathe their business and it shows.
