Waterite appointments made

Waterite America, Inc. announced that Jim Smith has recently been appointed as Southeast Area Manager. Based in Sarasota, FL, Smith will manage the new company warehousing and production operation management as well as assume responsibility for all sales management in the southwest US sales region. He has been a sales and operations executive within the Waterite group of companies for over 10 years. Smith’s extensive water conditioning background also includes sales roles in the pump industry and with EcoWater Systems.

James Alaimo has been engaged in the role of Sales Representative for the southeast US sales region. He will be responsible for sales, customer service and technical consultation with wholesale customers throughout the region. Alaimo has over 20 years of experience in the water treatment business, including roles with Culligan and Kinetico.

O’Neill named WEF Director

The Water Environment Federation (WEF) formally announced that Dr. Eileen O’Neill has been named the new Executive Director, replacing Jeff Eger. O’Neill has been serving as Interim Executive Director since Eger’s departure and prior to that, was Deputy Executive Director. Previously, she served as Chief Technical Officer with responsibility for oversight of WEF’s technical, international and communications programs. In the past several years, O’Neill has been instrumental in creating national and international thought-leadership programming at WEF’s annual conferences.

AWWA president-elect named

The American Water Works Association (AWWA) Board of Directors elected Gene Koontz as the association’s next President-elect. An AWWA member since 1982, he oversees environmental services for Gannett Fleming Inc. Koontz has served as an active volunteer and leader within the AWWA Pennsylvania Section as well as on the broader association level. He begins his new role in June at the conclusion of AWWA’s Annual Conference and Exposition in Boston, MA and will serve his one-year presidential term beginning in June 2015.

PSG appointments announced

Pump Solutions Group (PSG) announced Ueli Thuerig (previously named President of PSG Europe in June 2013) has been appointed to the newly created position of President of PSG EMEA. In this role, he will assume all commercial and operational responsibilities for operations in the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) regions.

David Wang was named to the newly created position of President of PSG Asia. He will assume all commercial and operational responsibilities for operations in the Asia region.

Karl Buscher, appointed to the newly created position of President of PSG Americas, will assume all commercial and operational responsibilities for operations in the Americas region.

Carrie Halle was appointed Director of Marketing, Americas, responsible for all activities related to the development and implementation of corporate marketing in the region. She brings more than 25 years of B2B marketing experience to the position, with extensive global experience in planning, branding, product management, segmentation and marketing communications

The National Ground Water Association named new officers, division vice presidents and directors to its 2014 Board. LANXESS management changes announced

The Supervisory Board of LANXESS AG has ended the appointment of Axel C. Heitmann as Member and Chairman of the Board of Management of LANXESS AG, effective February 28. The board appointed as his successor Matthias Zachert, former Chief Financial Officer of LANXESS and currently Chief Financial Officer at Merck KGaA, effective no later than May 15. Until Zachert joins the Board of Management, LANXESS Chief Financial Officer Bernhard Duettmann will perform the responsibilities of the previous Chairman of the Board of Management.

Chermak named Clack President, COO

Clack Corporation’s Board of Directors has appointed Peter Chermak President and Chief Operating Officer. He began his career at Clack Corporation 34 years ago, after graduating from the University of Wisconsin with a Bachelors of Business Administration Degree. Chermak has been instrumental in the success and growth the company has realized as they have become one of the world’s leading manufacturers and distributors of water treatment components. He has been active in the Water Quality Association at both the state and national levels, serving on several committees and task forces, as well as the Board of Directors from 1996-1999. Chermak also served as President of the Wisconsin WQA.

 

Mock appointed to NSPF Board

The National Swimming Pool Foundation® Board of Directors has elected Jim Mock as Board Member, effective last November. He brings unique and practical knowledge focused on hospitality pools, spas and efficient management technology. Director of Ecolab’s Aqua Balance Program, Mock has worked for the company for 39 years, starting as a territory manager in the institutional division and then through career advances to his current position. He has worked with commercial swimming pools and spas for over 21 years and created and developed Ecolab’s Remote Monitoring Center for commercial pools. Mock is currently involved in the Standards Committee with NSF and is a Certified NSPF® Instructor. He also has three registered patents for systems involved in the dispensing of chemicals into commercial bodies of water.
