Sweeney added to Nelsen sales team

Nelsen Corporation announced the addition of Colleen Sweeney to its Florida Distribution Center sales team. She brings over seven years of experience in the retail and wholesale water treatment industry, with the last six years serving as a Mechanical Design Engineer for a wholesale manufacturer of residential and commercial RO systems. Sweeney will be responsible for increasing the company’s customer base in the southern region. She holds an Associate Degree in civil engineering technology from Sinclair Community and a Bachelor of Science Degree in mechanical engineering technology from the University of Dayton.

Palframan promoted at RainSoft

Andrew Palframan has been promoted from Vice President to Senior Vice President and General Manager of RainSoft. He will continue to report to Cal Stuart, President and CEO of Aquion, Inc., the parent company of RainSoft. Palframan has been instrumental in RainSoft’s success throughout his more than 20 years of progressive responsibility with the company. He initially developed a partnership with The Home Depot, and recent marketing efforts include an expanded lead-generation arrangement that has helped drive retail sales over $250 million (USD) since the partnership was formed in 2006. Earlier this year, Palframan introduced a marketing-driven Purely Better Business dealer program with multifaceted product, sales and service support that included the debut of the industry’s first iPad App. He also is credited with implementing the company’s ISO 9001-2000 quality system.

Carreño named IDE regional director

IDE Technologies Ltd. has appointed Orlando Carreño as the new Regional Director of Sales and Business Development for South America. With more than 22 years of business development, sales and service-related experience and expertise in the environmental and water treatment fields, he is set to achieve significant growth for IDE’s business in South America. Prior to joining IDE, Carreño was the Director of Sales and Business Development for the Americas at Aquatech International. In addition, he was the Western Region Vice President at Envirogen Technologies, Inc. and also served as Business Development Manager of Layne Christensen.

Stiltner new Pelican Salesperson

Pelican Water Systems announced the addition of Scott Stiltner to its in-house sales staff. After serving as a law enforcement officer in Port Orange, FL for 23 years, he is now in training to serve the community by learning the water industry. Stiltner was educated at Daytona State College and is currently an instructor there. He is undergoing both WQA CWS and Pelican Water Systems training at this time.

McLellan appointed to NSF VP position

NSF International has appointed Clif McLellan as Vice President of NSF International’s Global Water Division. He has more than 18 years of experience with NSF International, most recently serving as Director of Toxicology for the past 12 years. McLellan earned a Master’s Degree in toxicology from the University of Michigan and a Bachelor’s Degree in chemistry at Eastern Michigan University. He has authored many articles, papers, manuscripts and industry presentations, conducted research for US EPA and risk assessments for the American Water Works Association and helped local water associations to better understand drinking water standards. As an innovator, McLellan initiated many successful NSF programs and services, including developing NSF’s relationship with US EPA’s Design for the Environment program and creating the complementary NSF Green Chemistry Program.

Fagan selected for WEF’s Industrial Wastewater Committee

Michael Fagan, Manager of Technology and Applications at US Peroxide, has been selected by the Water Environment Federation to serve on its Industrial Wastewater Committee. He is a key member of US Peroxide’s Technical Management Team and has more than 23 years’ experience in the development of chemical treatment technologies, from laboratory-phase through full-scale program implementation, including extensive experience with municipal odor and corrosion control programs. Fagan holds three US Patents related to the application of hydrogen peroxide in wastewater treatment, and has authored/presented technical papers at various state and international trade conferences, including WEFTEC. He is one of the inventors of US Peroxide’s Peroxide Regenerated Iron-Sulfide Control™ technology, which is being applied successfully in numerous large municipal sewage collection and treatment systems.

Poelmann named Aquatech Global Events PR Manager

Aquatech Global Events has appointed Stefanie Poelmann as Communications and PR Manager. Previously, she worked as Marketing and Communications Assistant for Aquatech and Aquaterra. The full team includes Domain Manager a.i., Heleen van der Meer; Product Manager Aquatech Amsterdam, IWW, WQA Aquatech USA, Marieke Leenhouts; Product Manager, Aquatech China, Aquatech India, Julia Hoferichter; Sales Manager, Nick Mouthaan and Operations Assistant, Martine Rietkerk.

Exton appointed to WEF board

GE announced the appointment of Ralph Exton to serve as a member of the 2012-2013 Board of Trustees for the Water Environment Federation. He has extensive experience in various leadership, business and international roles and has more than 25 years of advanced water treatment and water purification experience. Exton’s position on the board took effect September 29. In addition to his current role as the Chief Marketing Officer–Water and Process Technologies for GE Power & Water, Exton also leads the ecomagination program and water reuse and reduction initiatives, as well as the Water for Humanity program at GE. Exton is an active member of International Desalination Association and is co-Chair for the AIChE Society for Water Solutions.
