Kraemer appointed LANXESS China rep
Martin Kraemer became LANXESS AG’s Country Representative of Greater China for specialty chemicals group effective January 1, succeeding Yongli Wang. Kraemer began his career in 1991 at Bayer AG. From 1994 to 1997, he held top management positions at Bayer Korea Ltd. in Seoul and in 2003, he played an important role in the spin-off process from Bayer. In April 2008, Kraemer was appointed CFO of LANXESS Greater China in Shanghai.
FMA Board announced
Jeffrey Knauf, President of Medalist Laserfab, Inc., of Oshkosh, WI and Dan McLeod, District Manager of A. J. Forsyth in Delta, British Columbia, were elected to the Fabricators & Manufacturers Association (FMA) International 15-member Board of Directors at the group’s recent annual meeting. Knauf will serve a one-year term and McLeod will serve a three-year term. Vivek Kumar Gupta, Managing Director for Texas ProFab Corporation, Carrollton, TX, will serve a new three-year term. Gupta was appointed last year to serve a one-year term as a young professional associate director.

Gray & Creech Water Systems, Inc. announced Jason Martin, previously a district sales representative for Wake Supply, joined the firm as Account Manager. He will be responsible for growing the company’s customer base by attracting potential clients and educating them on the benefits and savings of using the company’s systems. Martin earned his Bachelor’s Degree in business administration with a concentration in management from Radford University in Radford, VA.

Angelo named WWEMA Chairman
Dave Angelo, Vice President and General Manager of Fairbanks Morse Pump (Kansas City, KS), was named Chairman of the Water and Wastewater Equipment Manufacturers Association (WWEMA) during the organization’s 100th annual meeting held last November in Tucson, AZ. Angelo will lead the Association during 2009 as Chair of the Executive Committee. The 32-year water and wastewater industry veteran has held leadership positions in the organization since 2006, serving on its Board of Directors since 2000.

AIChE awards announced
The American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE) bestowed its highest honor, the Founder’s Award for Outstanding Contributions to the Field of Chemical Engineering, to four recipients this year. Dr. Morton M. Denn, of the City College of the City University of New York, Dr. Robert S. Langer, of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Dr. Donald R. Paul and Dr. Nicholas A. Peppas, both of the University of Texas at Austin, were the recipients of AIChE’s major award.
