Parker named at CSI

CSI Water Treatment Systems appointed Kevin Parker as Commercial/Industrial Sales Engineer, responsible for leading the firm’s expanding Commercial/Industrial Division. Previously, he served as International Sales Manager, Marus & Weimer Inc., specializing in water treatment. Parker has 17 years experience in the water and wastewater industry and founded SRF Enterprises, a manufacturer representative firm. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in international business and economics from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor.

Eugenio appointed by ISPC

Carlo Eugenio joined ISPC’s Sales Department and will be responsible for new business development in water treatment, residential solar water heating, solar pool heating and HVAC. He has over 15 years of sales experience and has worked in the lending industry since 2002. Eugenio will be based out of the company’s corporate headquarters located in Tampa, Fla.

Hayslip named Sales Manager 

Chemilizer Products, Inc. has appointed Greg Hayslip as Sales Manager to oversee the firm’s expansion into water treatment, fertigation and swimming pool markets. Hayslip was formerly General Manager at a retail and wholesale flooring distributor. He is charged with strengthening relationships with Chemilizer’s existing national and international dealer network and with forging new relationships to spearhead expansion into new markets.

 

Scanlon appointment announced 

Aquionics has appointed Marc Scanlon as its new National Industrial Sales Manager for the US, responsible for selling Aquionics’ UV disinfection equipment for a wide range of process water applications. Prior to joining the company he worked for Aquafine, Novazone and BOC Gases (Ozone/UV division). Scanlon has over 20 years experience in water treatment, has authored numerous technical articles in leading trade publications and brings a wealth of knowledge to Aquionics.

Lovely named Rohm and Haas VP 

The Rohm and Haas Company Board of Directors elected Richard R. Lovely as Vice President, Corporate Director of Human Resources. He will also serve as a member of the company’s Executive Council. Previously, he served as Vice President, Human Resources for Tyco International’s Fire and Security business and has held Human Resource management positions in the US and Europe. Lovely earned his BS Degree from Cornell University (Ithaca, NY) and a JD Degree from Georgetown University (Washington, DC).

Hudnell new SolarBee VP

H. Kenneth Hudnell, Ph.D. was appointed Vice President and Director of Science for SolarBee Inc. Previously, he served for 23 years as a neurotoxicologist in US EPA’s National Health and Environmental Effects Research Laboratory. Most recently, Dr. Hudnell led an interagency effort to provide the scientific basis for meeting the Congressional mandates of the Harmful Algal Bloom and Hypoxia Research and Control Act. He received numerous US EPA awards for his research and publications on exposure to air- and water-borne environmental pollutants and adverse health effects in humans.

Sanchez promoted to VP

MIOX Corporation promoted Justin Sanchez to Vice President of Engineering and Product Development. He will lead all engineering and new product introduction activities. Sanchez, who served in various management positions at Advent Solar and Intel, earned three degrees from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT): a BS and an MS in materials science and an MBA.

NGWA awards announced

The National Ground Water Association (NGWA) announced award winners at the 2007 NGWA Ground Water Expo and Annual Meeting, held in Orlando, Fla. last December. Evan Nyer, Vice President of ARCADIS, received the 2007 Keith E. Anderson Award from the Association of Ground Water Scientists and Engineers, a division of NGWA. William S. Glenn Jr., Health And Safety Coordinator for ENSR Corporation, was honored with the 2007 Individual Safety Advocate Award. The 2007 Supplier of the Year Award was presented to Carl Lee, Vice President of Milby Company, recognizing his volunteerism, leadership and promotion of ground water and ground water issues to the industry and the public. Robert Reichart, President of William W. Reichart, Inc. was honored with the 2007 Standard Bearer Award for outstanding volunteer involvement in legislative processes on behalf of the association. The Robert Storm Interdivisional Cooperation Award went to John Schmitt, owner of J.P. Schmitt & Company. The 2007 Manufacturer Special Recognition Award, in recognition of strong support for professional education and dedication to developing technical information, was bestowed on Allan Bo Anderson, President and CEO of Danfoss Flomatic Corporation. Life Member Awards were presented to Tommy Bussell, President, Bussell & Sons, LLC; Dr. Emil Frind, University of Waterloo, Earth Sciences Department; James Gibb, Senior Underwriter, Zurich North America; Glen Lyons, former President of NGWA and Allen Moench, a US Geological Survey hydrologist.

O’Brien appointed VP 

CoolerSmart USA announced the appointment of Randall L. O’Brien as Vice President, Sales and Marketing. In his new role, he will oversee all sales and marketing activities including branch sales, national sales, dealer sales and telemarketing. Since 1998, O’Brien has held several management positions with CoolerSmart, most recently as Director of Dealer Development. He attended Wiedner University and has earned CWS VI and CSR professional certification from the Water Quality Association (WQA).

Overbeck named IUVA Director

The International Ultraviolet Association (IUVA) appointed Paul Overbeck as its new Executive Director, following the retirement of Jim Bolton after eight years of very distinguished service. Overbeck’s accomplished water industry career includes serving in senior management and executive positions. He is currently Executive Director of the International Ozone Association Pan-American Group – a position he will retain

LANXESS experts honored

Three members of the LANXESS specialty chemicals group were presented with the Japan Association of Ion Exchange (JAIE) Technology Award. Dr. Olaf Halle, Kunihiro Ohira and Shigeyoshi Miyahara of the Ion Exchange Resins Business Unit were honored for contributions to new Lewatit monodisperse chelate resins. The award recognizes JAIE members – individuals or companies – who have distinguished themselves through research work, technological development or outstanding service to the field of ion exchange resins. It was presented at the organization’s 20th anniversary celebration at the University of Yamanashi, Japan.

Nelsen sales team expanded

Nelsen Corporation announced three additions to and one departure from its sales team. Mike Black was named Southeastern Regional Sales Manager, responsible for the startup of the new distribution branch for Florida in addition to the daily operations once opened. Callahan named to Watts team

Watts Water Technologies announced Stephen Callahan as National Market Manager for its new line of OneFlow™ anti-scale systems. His responsibilities will include launching the new product for commercial applications, product development and management, technical product training and coordination of marketing activities. Previously, Callahan held market and sales management positions with Cuno® for 10 years and most recently was co-founder and President of PureTech Waters of America. He holds a BS degree in business administration and marketing from Providence College. Callahan will be based out of his home office in Connecticut.
