Davy appointed at Hague
Stephen Davy joined Hague Quality Water International as a Technical Advisor, reporting to National Technical Director Gary Battenberg. He started in Las Vegas, Nev. as an Install Manager and has serviced over 10,000 well and city units around the country.

Tangley and others rewarded by Culligan peers
Culligan International Company honored four very special dealers in North America with the first annual Pinnacle Award at the Culligan Dealers Association of North America conference in Fort Worth, Texas. This inaugural award was designed to honor an individual’s long-term outstanding service to the Culligan System and to his/her community. The award recipients were Buzz Cooksey (Culligan Water Conditioning, Youngstown, Ohio), C. R. Hall (Wichita Water Conditioning Inc. dba Hall’s Culligan Water, Wichita, Kan.), John Packard (Culligan Water Minnetonka, Minn.) and Bret P. Tangley (President of Sterling Water Culligan, Eau Claire, Wis.). WC&P congratulates all the winners of this new award.

Jessup joins WaterTech
WaterTech, Inc. announces the addition of Lawrence Jessup, CWS-VI, CI, as President of Operations and new business partner. Previously, he was Senior Applications Engineer with RO manufacturer Crane Environmental and the former President of Inaqua International. Jessup will add 25 years of water treatment experience and RO knowledge to the firm’s expanding service capabilities.

Aquacell appoints Knoll
Aquacell Water, Inc.’s water treatment subsidiary announces the appointment of James Knoll as Chief Operating Officer. A chemical industry professional, he previously headed MEI’s Isolux Technologies Arsenic Removal Division, where he spearheaded a team of research chemists and engineers focused on product, application and commercial development of arsenic removal products. (He has also written about arsenic treatment for WC&P: see Arsenic Treatment Solutions, March 2007.) Knoll has a Bachelor of Science Degree in chemistry, a Master’s Degree in business management and has spent over 18 years as an environmental professional.

Watts hires Zilaro
Watts Water Technologies, Inc., announces Joe Zilaro is National Market Manager, Watts Wholesale Marketing, for Savard, Calflex and Watts Flexible Connector products. His responsibilities include market and new product management, development and technical product training. Zilaro will coordinate marketing activities and work in conjunction with regional sales managers/agents. A graduate of the University of New Haven (Conn.), Zilaro earned MBA and BS Degrees in marketing and management.

Loderbauer joins Water-Right
Water-Right, Inc., announces the addition of Kim Loderbauer as Marketing Manager. She will develop and design sales literature and other marketing materials for use by the company’s dealers and manage marketing efforts. Loderbauer earned a BA Degree in graphic design from Mount Mary College (Wis.) and has over 11 years of experience in graphic design, pre-press production and business-to-business marketing.

Blancett distributors recognized
Blancett honored its top four 2006 distributors including TTI (worldwide); Kimray Sales and Services (south central and coastal region); Pembina Controls, of Alberta, Canada; and Dave’s Flow Measurement of Wyoming. TTI’s Flow Division General Manager Lou Phelps received the award for top sales. Kimray Sales and Services’ District Manager Larry Johnson, Pembina Controls’ General Manager Gary Matthews and Dave Bannister, owner of Dave’s Flow Measurement, received awards earlier this year.

McCarty chosen for Stockholm honor
Professor Perry L. McCarty from Stanford University (Calif.) was recently named 2007 Stockholm Water Prize Laureate. He was recognized for his pioneering work in the development of the understanding of biological and chemical process for safe supply and treatment of water. In August, McCarty will receive $150,000 and the Water Prize glass sculpture during the 2007 World Water Week ceremonies in Stockholm, Sweden.

Amsterdam RAI appointment
Exhibition organizer Amsterdam RAI announced the appointment of Paddy Young as Senior Product Manager for the Aquatech and Aquaterra shows. He will oversee the water technology domain and be responsible for further expansion of the Aquatech brand while strengthening relations with all parties in the market.

Berkeley Springs water winners announced
The 17th Annual Berkeley Springs International Water Tasting event held earlier this year produced winners in five categories: Best Municipal Water (Montpelier, Ohio), Best Bottled Water (I Am Healthy of Mount Palomar, Calif. and Muskoka Natural Spring Water of Gravenhurst, Ontario tied), Best Sparkling Water (Sparkling StoneClear Springs, Vanleer, Tenn.), Best Packaging (Aquadeco, Mount Ararat, Armenia) and Purified Drinking Water (Coral Water, Rost Labs, Fla). A dozen media judges were instructed to rate water for appearance, aroma, taste, mouth feel and aftertaste. The 18th annual event is scheduled for February 23, 2008.
