Parrott now Watts VP
Watts Water Technologies Inc. announced that Bruce Parrott has been promoted to Vice President of Sales Administration for wholesale markets. He will be responsible for all programs, pricing and contract administration, in addition to overseeing the development and implementation of strategic initiatives. Parrott began his career in the waterworks industry with a control valve manufacturer; during his tenure with Watts, he has held several management positions. Parrot will remain based at Watts’ headquarters in North Andover, Massachusetts.

ASU’s Westerhoff receives prize
A $100,000 prize awarded recently to Paul Westerhoff, an Associate Professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering of Arizona State University’s Ira A. Fulton School of Engineering, will support his research into some of the environmental implications of the nanotechnology revolution. ASU Insight reported that the funding accompanies Westerhoff’s selection as winner of the 2006 Paul L. Busch Award from the Water Environment Research Foundation Endowment for Innovation in Applied Water Quality Research.

Snowden joins VEI
Ben Snowden joined Vendors Exchange International, Inc. (Cleveland) as National Sales Manager for Tana Water Products. Previously, he was General Manager at Filterfresh Indianapolis, overseeing all aspects of that operation. Snowden brings nearly 10 years of knowledge of the water and OCS industries plus experience in sales, marketing and customer relations. As National Sales Manager, he will serve as the primary contact for the distribution, customer support and service of Tana products.

Rolchigo now Pentair VP
Business Wire reported that Pentair, Inc. appointed Dr. Philip M. Rolchigo as Vice President, Water Technology for its Water Group, effective immediately. In his new role, he will report to Michael V. Schrock, Pentair’s President and COO. Rolchigo most recently served as the global separation technologies leader for General Electric,Water and Process Technologies. He holds Ph.D. and MS Degrees in chemical and biochemical engineering from the University of Pennsylvania and a BS Degree in chemical engineering from the University of Rochester. Rolchigo also holds several patents and has published numerous articles in industry publications.

NSPF® appoints Davis 
The National Swimming Pool Foundation® announced the appointment of Tracynda Davis, MPH, as Director of Environmental Health Programs. She holds a Masters degree in Public Health from the University of South Florida-Tampa and earned her BA degree in anthropology and microbiology from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Davis will coordinate and expand current NSPF cooperative environmental health programs to raise educational standards for operators and health officials.  She assumed her duties in January.

Smith and Reilly join B&H
B&H Labeling Systems announces the appointment of Lee R. Smith as Western Regional Sales Manager and James Reilly as Northeastern Regional Sales Manager. They will lead teams responsible for bringing the company’s roll-fed and shrink sleeve-labeling technology to customers in their respective regions. Smith brings more than 20 years of technical and sales experience in the packaging industry to his position. Most recently, he was Regional Sales Manager at Industrial Dynamics and previously, Field Service Manager at Peco Controls. Smith holds a degree in electronic technologies from DeVry Institute of Technology. Reilly brings more than 30 years of experience in packaging equipment sales. Most recently, he was President of TechSystems, a sales representative company for a variety of packaging machinery manufacturers. He holds a BA degree from Rutgers University.

Racine hires Scoon 
Michael Scoon joined Racine Federated as Director of Sales for its flow meter divisions. He will report to John Erskine III, Vice President of Sales. Scoon will be responsible for coordinating sales plans for the divisions while directing and supporting the flow meter sales management team. He has more than 15 years of experience in development and implementation of successful sales management strategies in the industry. Scoon holds a BS degree in life science with a minor in chemistry from the University of Wisconsin-Parkside. 

Ritter to teach at PACS
Professional Analytical and Consulting Services (PACS) announced the appointment of James Ritter, Professor of Chemical Engineering at the University of South Carolina at Columbia to its teaching staff. He will be presenting the organization’s two-day short course, Pressure Swing Adsorption and Other Cyclic Adsorption Processes and Applications, three times per year. Ritter received his Ph.D. from the University at Buffalo in 1989 and has authored or coauthored over 115 peer-reviewed journal articles.

AbTech appoints Devitt 
Les Devitt was recently appointed Vice President of Sales & Marketing at AbTech Industries. As a senior member of the management team, he will be focused on the strategic implementation and expansion of the firm’s clean water products nationally. Most recently, Devitt served as Vice President of National Sales and Marketing for Basin Water Inc. He holds a BScience degree in civil engineering from Wentworth Institute of Technology and also has extensive management experience in the technology industry.

 

NSF appoints Torres 
NSF International announced the appointment of Ramon Torres as the New Business Unit Manager for the agency’s Electrical Safety Program. Prior to NSF, he spent over 17 years with Underwriters Laboratories Inc. (UL). Torres holds a BS degree in electrical engineering from the University of California, Davis.  He is a registered Professional Engineer and a National Association of Radio and Telecommunications Engineers (NARTE) Certified Engineer in Product Safety. Torres is also an active member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and the Product Safety Engineering Society (PSES).
