Pentair appoints Desmond VP
Neil Desmond has been named Senior Vice President and General Manager for the Pentair Water Fluid Solutions Group. He is the recently elected President of the Water Quality Association. Desmond, a graduate of the University of Delaware, has been a member of WQA since 1984.

McCoy elected by IBWA
The International Bottled Water Association’s (IBWA) Charlie McCoy has been elected to serve as the Chairman of the IBWA Board of Directors for the upcoming 2006-2007 term. McCoy has represented CCDA Waters, LLC at IBWA since the company’s formation in 2003. He served as IBWA Treasurer in 2005 and Vice Chairman in 2006 and is a member of the Executive Committee and Board of Directors.

Mitchard assumes CEO role
Pionetics appointed Dr. Gordon Mitchard as the company’s new Chief Executive Officer. One of Pionetics’ founders in 1995, he returns to lead the company as it prepares to expand internationally. Mitchard has a diverse background that spans general management, technology, marketing and sales. For the past 14 years, he served in sales and marketing management roles for JDS Uniphase Corp. and SDL Inc. Prior to that, Mitchard held a variety of engineering and engineering management positions in the graphics industry.

Merritt and Hurst join AgION
Ginger Merritt joined AgION Technologies, Inc. as Vice President of Worldwide Marketing, responsible for designing and implementing marketing initiatives and programs to support exponential growth. In addition, she will be leading the development and execution of the company’s external communication and media relations. Merritt has 20 years of experience in the polymer, specialty chemical and coatings industries. Paul William (Bill) Hurst, Jr. joined the company as Director of Business Development in the food and water markets. He brings over 20 years of experience in sales management and business development to the firm. Hurst will be responsible for developing and executing sales plans and programs for the firm’s silver-based antimicrobial technology on a national, regional and a key account basis.

American PureTex appointments
Dale Behm has been named as the Chief Executive Officer of American PureTex Water Corporation (APWC), replacing George Ingram III, who will remain as Chairman. Behm has over 25 years experience in senior management for Fortune 500 companies and contract manufacturers. Sarah Corbin has been appointed to the position of APWC Staff Executive for Public Relations. She has a strong background in community relations and promotions and holds a BS degree in public relations.

Amiad appoints Ziebart
Amiad Filtration Systems announced it has appointed Jessica Ziebart as Marketing Coordinator. Ziebart will support marketing and sales initiatives including tradeshow and event marketing, marketing communications, public relations, advertising and product and sales training. Pacific Ozone hires Rombach
Chris Rombach has joined Pacific Ozone Technology as President. He will oversee the expansion of innovative processes to provide alternative ways for industry leaders to utilize and protect their water resources and ensure customer safety. Previously, Rombach served as President at Stedim Biosystems, Inc. and as a Product Manager at the largest distributor for Pall Corporation.

Papa joins Nelson
Nelsen Corporation announces the addition of Dan Papa to its team as Eastern Regional Sales Manager for its Ohio-based headquarters. He will be in charge of managing the day-to-day sales operations, including the execution of the company’s goals, continuity of the sales team and customer satisfaction. Papa has over 20 years of management experience in the manufacturing industry and has been recognized with national and regional awards.

AWT awards Ketrick
Bruce Ketrick, Sr., CWT, President of Guardian CCS, received the prestigious Ray Baum Memorial Water Technologist of the Year Award during the Annual Association of Water Technologies Convention in Charlotte, N.C. The award recognizes outstanding entrepreneurial spirit and contributions to the field of water treatment and particularly for service to the AWT and its members. During his distinguished career, Ketrick authored numerous papers and articles on the subject of water treatment and made multiple presentations at AWT seminars.

Cosmez appointed CFO at Puronics
Puronics, Incorporated has appointed Mark H. Cosmez II as Chief Financial Officer. He brings 30 years of financial experience from public companies and high-growth corporations, including Giga-tronics Incorporated, Pacific Bell, International Microcomputer Software, Inc. and Measurex Corporation. He received a BA degree in chemistry and a masters degree in accounting from the California State University at Hayward and is also a Certified Public Accountant.

Weitnauer joins Mar Cor
Cantel Medical Corp. has appointed Curtis D. Weitnauer as President of Mar Cor Purification, its water purification and filtration business.  He has more than 20 years of industry experience. For the past three years, Weitnauer served as the Global Equipment Supply Chain Leader for GE Water. From 2000 to 2003, he served as Vice President and General Manager of Osmonics.

Gelosa to retire from Ashland
Len R. Gelosa, Senior Vice President of Ashland Water Technologies, will retire after 24 years of service, effective January 1, 2007. Gelosa joined Ashland in 1971. He held senior positions in other global chemical companies (1980 through 1991) before returning to Ash-land as Vice President of Marketing and Technology, Drew Industrial. In 1993, Gelosa was promoted to Vice President/General Manager of that division and was promoted to his current position in 2004.
