Coca-Cola and Groupe Danone are planning to renegotiate the terms of their North American agreement for bottled water distribution, including a joint venture that allows Coke to distribute Evian. Sales from the venture have dropped sharply since 2002 when Coke began distributing the Evian brand in North American. Also, the three-tiered brand structure has failed, with Evian remaining as the high-priced brand, but Dasani and Dannon often ending up in competition with one-another on store shelves.
