CUNO appoints manager
Robert A. Governal, Ph.D., has been appointed senior marketing manager for CUNO’s WaterGroup. He will be responsible for exploring new strategic business opportunities in both domestic and international markets. Governal will also be responsible for the presentation and publication of CUNO’s innovations to the marketplace. Previously employed by Waterlink, IIT and USFilter, he earned his doctorate in chemical engineering at the University of Arizona.
Perry joins NORIT team
As of July, David A. Perry has been the executive vice president of Atlanta-based NORIT Americas, one of the largest producers of activated carbon in the world. Perry’s purification background includes 11 years as president of Koch Membrane Systems and 14 years in sales/marketing and general management at the Chemical Process Products Division of The Norton Company. He has a chemical engineering degree from Northeastern University.
Newco names president
Ken Shea has been named president of Newco Enterprises Inc. of
St. Charles, Mo. The appointment was effective July 31. Shea is an industry veteran with many years of experience in office coffee service as well as product distribution. Previously, he had been vice president of operations at the Standard Companies for nine years.
Ionics to fill void
Chief Financial Officer Robert Halliday will leave Ionics to pursue other opportunities with software developer Unica Corp. Ionics has not named a replacement but has an executive search pending Halliday was to remain for a brief transition period.
USFilter’s new manager
John Wolanski has joined USFilter Operating Services in Houston as project development manager for industrial outsourcing. Prior to joining USFilter, Wolanski was division vice president for Nalco Chemical Co. Before that, he served as the executive director of sales for Calgon Corp. He has served in the petrochemical and pulp and paper industries for more than 20 years.
EcoWater names VP
Steve Dakolios has been named vice president of operations for EcoWater Systems Inc. of St. Paul, Minn. He will be responsible for manufacturing plants in St. Paul and Ripley, Miss., and all supporting operations. Most recently, he acted as vice president and general manager for Applied Power Inc. Dakolios has also held various operational management positions for both Applied and Newell Companies.
Medina fills position
Pedro Medina has temporarily assumed the presidency of Danone’s worldwide water division. Medina replaces James Stevens, who has left Great Brands of Europe and Danone International Brands.
Osmonics adds 2 managers
Minnetonka, Minn.-based Os-monics Household Water Group has added two new regional account managers to its sales team. Patrick Byle will cover the Midwest, and will be based out of Milwaukee. Based out of Florida, Robert Bennett will cover the Southeast.
