Friot’s Water Treatment Co., of Ayer, Mass., was recently granted U.S. Patent #6,368,510 for a method and apparatus to remove arsenic from water. A new technique was developed in 1996 for removal of arsenic from water with three key elements —reduction of arsenic level to below 10 ppb; capabability of treating all water as it enters the home; the equipment can be maintained by the homeowner. The approach is of significant importance in the New England area.
