Acidity

The quantitative capacity of a substance (a water or a solution) to neutralize a base, expressed in ppm or mg/L calcium carbonate equivalent. Acidity is determined by the number of hydrogen atoms present. Usually measured by titration with a standard solution of sodium hydroxide.
