SENIOR ION EXCHANGE TECHNOLOGIST  
ResinTech, Inc. is currently seeking a Senior Ion Exchange Technologist for our West Berlin, NJ location.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• First point of contact for all technical inquiries
• Support customers by interacting with lab, technical management and sales staff
• Prepare performance projections of our products manually, and with proprietary software for ion exchange resins, activated carbon and other performance products.
• Reports to the V.P. of Operations, working closely with the Technical Director to seek advice and review as appropriate in order to get timely answers to technical questions and customer inquiries.
• Proficient in Ion Exchange Resin Technology. Will become proficient in our related technologies including Activated Carbon, System and Product Filters, Resin Regeneration and General water purification technology.
• Utilize our extensive technical library to solve customer applications and problems.
• Write papers for magazines and trade shows
• Present seminars and training classes
• Assist in writing procedures for laboratory and plant.
• Work with the Quality department on Specifications and product approvals
• Work with Production to provide technical guidance and support on production related issues.
• Provides technical support and troubleshooting in the field to customers requiring occasional travel.
• Assists with application research and new product development
• Assists with technical writing of sales and marketing materials
• Additional duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Experience in Ion Exchange Resin technology
• Strong writing, communication and presentation skills
• Excellent problem solving capabilities
• B.S. in Chemistry preferred with 3-5 years’ experience
• Occasional travel required

OPENING: DIRECTOR OF TECHNICAL AFFAIRS  
The Water Quality Association (WQA) is seeking candidates for the position of Director of Technical Affairs, which will report to the Executive Director/CEO. This position is responsible for providing technical expertise regarding water quality treatment technology for residential, commercial and industrial systems in order to advance WQA’s reputation as the recognized resource and advocate for the betterment of water quality. This role is also integral in championing the benefits, importance and necessity of water treatment.
Essential Responsibilities:
• Planning and implementing the business plan for the Technical Affairs Department to provide technical expertise and consultation for members, standards, research, regulatory and governmental initiatives.
• Providing water treatment technical expertise for the development and maintenance of standards, codes, and technical bulletins at the national, state, local and international levels. This includes testing and product certification standards, plumbing codes, sustainability, legislative & regulatory interpretations, and consumer information.
• Facilitating internal and external committees and task forces associated with investigating technical issues and preparing technical documentation.
• Providing education and guidance for various internal and external teams, departments, committees and governmental entities, both domestically and internationally.
• Working collaboratively on technical issues with state and regional WQAs.
• Building and maintaining relationships with government and non-government agencies and organizations.
• Representing the Association through speaking engagements, presentations and participation in meetings, conventions and conferences.
• Writing technical articles, preparing speeches and editing publications.
• Providing technical consultancy and project management support for WQA’s research foundation.
• Managing external technical consultant workload and activities to support technical and research initiatives.
• Working closely with the Director of Government Affairs on advocacy initiatives at the federal and state level. This includes participating in the preparation and delivery of testimony and providing guidance on technical aspects of legislation and rule making.
• Helping organize, track and administer state and federal activities related to water quality.
• Assisting other departments, members or member committees in development and execution of their technical and regulatory programs and initiatives.
Qualifications:
• PhD (preferred) or Master’s Degree in a Physical Chemistry discipline: Bio-Science, Chemistry, Biology, Engineering or similar.
• Minimum of 5-7 years of experience with technical consulting related to drinking water
• 2-5 years of experience building strong rapport with legislative and regulatory entities
• Strong project management background with proven accomplishments. Project Management Certification preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communications skills, including public speaking experience.
• Excellent relationship-building and interpersonal skills. An ability to relate well with a wide range of constituencies.
• Track record for creating effective working relationships with a board of directors, membership and external partners.
• Strong Emphasis on membership satisfaction and employee satisfaction with fiscal responsibility.
• Passion for continuously learning all relevant facets of the water industry to ensure credibility in representing WQA.
