Patterson added to Canature team
Canature WaterGroup announced the addition of Russell Patterson as Executive VP of Business Development. He will lead the Rainfresh® retail sales initiatives in the US and Mexico and be responsible for overall sales strategy in Mexico. An accomplished leader with extensive business strategy and operational management experience, Patterson has spent 34 years building his career in the water conditioning and retail industries. During his 20-year career with Marmon Water LLC, he held successive management positions, including serving as President of EcoWater Systems (2016-18) and of KX Technologies LLC (2007-15). Prior to joining Marmon Water, Patterson learned the consumer goods industry through his 14 years at Electrolux.
ASTM Board members announced
ASTM International announced its slate of six new Board of Director nominees for 2020, five of whom are women. In addition, the organization’s President, Katharine Morgan, unveiled a new Women in Standards video, highlighting the growing role of women in developing technical standards. The nominees are experts representing perspectives of industry, government, consumers and more. They include Francine Bovard, Senior Technical Specialist, Arconic; Bonnie McWade-Furtado, Associate Research and Development Scientist, Cabot Corp.; Carol Pollack-Nelson, PhD, Owner of Independent Safety Consulting LLC; Casandra W. Robinson, Physical Scientist, US National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) and Dalia Yarom, Director of the Standardization Division, Standards Institution of Israel (SII). Michael J. Brisson, Technical Advisor, Savannah River National Laboratory, was also nominated.
2019 WEF Fellows selected
The Water Environment Federation (WEF) announced 15 distinguished members as the 2019 WEF Fellows recipients. This prestigious designation recognizes members’ achievements, stature and contributions in the water profession. Additionally, Joe Stowe, Jr. has been selected as an honorary WEF Fellow for his eminence and contributions to the water profession as a leader in utility management and leadership. A WEF Life Member, Stowe has spent more than 50 years working in the water sector and led Charlotte-Mecklenburg (NC) Utilities (now Charlotte Water) for 12 years.
